Koh Samui is located on the western side of the Thai Gulf. Along with its neighbours, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, it experiences more sunny days on average than islands in the Andaman Sea. While we have an international airport here, Koh Samui is not a mass-tourism destination. As soon as you reach the airport, you know the experience will be different – open-air carts take you to a thatched-roof arrivals area, where our butlers wait for you with your private limousine transfer.

The climate is ideal. Contrary to the mainland, there are no specific rainy seasons. Even in November any rain clouds above the sea will be blown away quickly – occasional showers never last long. A constant light breeze tempers even the hottest days. The ocean is clean, with no noticeable tides and – best of all – free of anything that might sting or bite!

Samui offers a lot of exciting and diverse sites. In strong contrast to our tranquil beaches at the Mae Nam Bay area is the buzz of famous Chaweng Beach, about 20 minutes away by taxi. There you can enjoy nightlife, restaurants and plenty of shopping. For quieter, more authentic evenings you might venture into Fisherman’s Village with its ambient restaurants overlooking the ocean and its quaint souvenir shops.

The south of Samui showcases the island’s beauty with tropical mountain walks, hidden waterfalls – even a butterfly farm. Samui is also perfect for spa-lovers. Traditional Thai massages can be found everywhere. And if you’re looking for Thai culture you needn’t go far – within short drive of Santiburi resort you can find ancient Thai temples and witness various monk ceremonies. One sight not to miss is the golden Big Buddha statue – an iconic landmark of Samui.
